Start with the following steps:
- Make sure you are logged in to the account on the phone app. If you have the My Account section in the app's side menu, then you are logged in. Otherwise, you are not logged in and need to use the Login option.
- Make sure Pulse SMS is set up as the default messaging app on your phone.
- Make sure you have an internet connection on the phone.
When Pulse SMS receives a message, it is received through the phone, then pushed up to the web to be distributed across the platforms. If the push to the web isn't going off, it is likely that Android is preventing it from accessing data or running the background service while the app isn't open on the device. All versions of Android and manufacturers have data/battery optimizations, some of them are enforced differently and are more aggressive. It is impossible to point you exactly where you need to look in settings because all devices handle their settings differently. Here are some places/ideas to start with:
- Pulse SMS isn't allowed to access data in the background. This can be turned off via system-level toggles on almost all devices. Pulse SMS needs to be able to access background data.
- You might have battery saver mode turned on.
- You might have a data saver mode turned on.
Android 6.0+ devices allow you to select from a list of apps, which apps are "battery optimized". Most people have no issues with leaving Pulse SMS alone here and not changing its battery optimization. However, we recommend that you use this menu to stop optimizing Pulse SMS in the background. To access this list of apps, open Pulse SMS on the phone, go to the side menu > Support, and select the Disable Battery Optimization preference.
If you ensure all these items are done, your issue should be solved. If you have gone through all of these steps and it still isn't working, please send us a report by going to the app's side menu > Support > Email.
