In Settings > Advanced Features, one of the options is Auto Reply Configuration. Within that page, you have the ability to set up automated replies based on certain situations. The available replies are:
- Driving Mode reply: Turn this on and set up a response to automatically send this as a reply to all messages you receive. On Android 7.0 and above, Pulse SMS has a quick settings tile in your phone's status bar menu, that you can use to turn this on and off.
- Vacation Mode reply: Turn this on and set up a response to automatically send this as a reply to all messages you receive.
- Contact-based Replies: Add a new contact-based auto reply by tapping "Create a New Auto Reply" found at the bottom of the page, and selecting "Contact". Each contact reply is for a single contact, i.e. you cannot add multiple contacts to this auto reply. Whenever the selected contact sends you a message, this reply is automatically sent.
- Keyword-based Replies: Add a new keyword-based auto reply by tapping "Create a New Auto Reply" found at the bottom of the page, and selecting "Keyword". Whenever a message comes in that contains the keyword/text you specified, this auto reply will be sent. Keywords are case-insensitive.
Only one type of auto reply will ever get sent, regardless of how many types of replies are set up to match the situation. For example: if you have Driving Mode turned on, it will prevent any other replies from being sent. If you have Driving Mode off and Vacation Mode on, it will send the Vacation Mode reply, then prevent any other types of replies from being sent.
When an auto reply gets sent, it will appear in the conversation thread, together with any other messages you have sent.
