Pulse SMS - I cannot send/receive MMS or group messages.
First, ensure that Pulse SMS is the default SMS app on your phone. If it isn't, you cannot send or receive MMS. Pulse SMS is designed to be the default SMS app on your phone and will not work correctly if it isn't.
By default, Pulse SMS relies entirely on system-level methods to send and receive MMS messages. We do not handle any of it ourselves. To troubleshoot issues, please make sure that mobile data is turned on. MMS does not work over Wi-Fi for most carriers and devices unless Wi-Fi calling can be enabled.
Lower the maximum image size in Settings > MMS Configuration > Max Image Size. Different carriers have different limitations on the media size that can be sent. If your carrier only supports 1 MB, then that is the value you should use in Pulse SMS as well. If you don't know or can't find your carrier's limit, set it to 500 KB.
You could also try to input your own APN settings in Settings > MMS Configuration > Override System APNs. These APNs are specific to your carrier, so you would have to find the ones that match your carrier. This is a pretty easy Google search, for example, using search terms like "insert carrier MMS APN settings." Please note that if you use the Override system APNs option and do not put in the correct APNs, MMS will completely stop working.
To summarize:
- Pulse SMS needs to be the default SMS app.
- Mobile data needs to be enabled on your phone (or Wi-Fi calling is enabled.)
- Turn down the Max Image Size setting.
- Try inputting custom APNs.
If these tips don't change anything, please contact us through the app via the side menu > Support > Email. If we have any other questions about your situation or need more information, we will reach out to you again so that MMS can be improved in the future.
